Check the inventory of the hero who has found the artifact. You have to move the artifact to the hero equipment slots to equip the it. This action will bind the artifact to the hero. If you want to transfer the artifact to another hero, move the artifact to the town inventory. Then, select the other hero and move the artifact from the town inventory to that hero's equipment slots.
